one hour till christmas

Well, here I am at the computer watching TVU like always, its almost Christmas. I'm a little upset because Showbread was number 3 on the countdown, and thats not good enough, so everyone needs to start going to www.tvulive.com and voting for the Ten Most Wanted, and vote for the 'Bread. We got to open a present tonight, as per usual, and I opened the new Further Seems Forever cd from my sister, and it is awesome. I highly recommend it, the first two songs will knock your sock off. I'm really getting excited, because less than 2 days from now, I'll be in GA with Katie!! Yippee!
What else has been going on? Well, basically the same sitting around and watching tv, then coming here to the computer to watch TVU. MC gave me a gift certificate to Blockbuster and I went and got The Iron Giant!!! For those of you who have not seen this move, go rent it now. It is definitely one of the top animated movies of all time. Its got a great story, and was written and directed by Brad Bird, who later made the incredible, The Incredibles.
I also finished Dark Tower book 5, but I can't get book 6 because the liberry was closed today, so I'm reading HP until I can move on. I don't know if I updated since then, but HP6 comes out July 16th, 2005!!! Yippee skippy doo!! Okay, I'm actually kind of tired, so I'm going to watch a bit more TVU then go on to bed! Happy Christmas, all and to all a good light.

National Treasure

So tonight, contrary to all my pressings for the Incredibles, my family went to see National Treasure. It was decent, predictable and very DaVinci Code wanna-be. However, it did have Boromir in it, and that is good enough for me. Plus it had the teaser trailer for Hitchhiker's Guide, which I am eagerly anticipating.
Katie got back from Wisconsin today, so I actually got to talk to her for a decent amount of time, that really helped me make it through the monotony of the day. There really is just nothing to do during the middle of the day. Nothing good comes on tv, there is only so much to do online, so I basically wind up reading all day. I have demolished 3 books, 6 graphic novels, and 250 pages of my current book since I have been at home. Not bad for 6 days, eh? Well if anyone has been reading the posts on roperisdumb.com or playing games on gsn.com, look out for conniedarko, because those have been my hangouts of late online.
BIG NEWS!!!! J.K. Rowling opened her secret door on the website, and after making my way through the clues, you find out that the release date for Half-Blooded Prince will be announced within the next 24 hours!!! She turned in her English transcript to the publishers!!! Woohoo!!! Ok, that was a great ending.

more break

well, bad news. As I have been cruising the internet during my free time, I learned that the sister of the guitarist for Anberlin passed away about a week ago. I was reminded of this just this moment, because their video is playing on TVU, which I am watching as I write this. Sorry to start off on such a downer. For good news, I've been watching the 10 Most Wanted on TVU every night and Showbread has been #1 for the past 3 days! Rock solid. Katie is still up in Wisconsin, but she says its good, its even snowing there (as of an hour ago when she called me). I wish it was snowing here.
I've almost beat my Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy game, its a really good Zelda clone, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who needs a cheap (only 12 bucks used) new game to play over the break. Also, we watched Cheaper by the Dozen last night for my like 4th time. Its an ok movie, but it really starts to get on my nerves after I've seen it this many times.
I'm trying to convince my parents to see the Incredibles, cuz I'm all up for seeing it a couple more times, and my parents havent seen it yet, so why not. Well, drop that for today, I just got up to ask mom, and it turns out she left and went to the church when I wasn't paying attention, and since she's got a wedding to do tonight, it will probably have to wait. Poop.
Well, thats about all. Drop me a line and tell me about your holidays.... please... I'm so lonely.

Bored

So, I'm at home now and there really isn't much to do. I've played some nintendo and Doom 3, watched some tv, and read some, but nothing really big. Katie arrived safely in Wisconsin this morning, so she is working on getting her wedding dress all fitted to her. I worked a little on my story this afternoon, and I rekindled my love for Mythbusters last night.
For those not in the know, Mythbusters is another great show on Discovery in which they put urban myths to the test to find out whether or not they are possible. Also, last night was the repeat of the 2 hour premiere of LOST, and next week they are continuing the repeats so its a great time to get on board, i Tivo'ed it on my parents Tivo to watch over and over. But back to Mythbusters, this time they made a rocket chair, presumably to launch him into space with fireworks, it didn't work, but boy did it fail spectacularly! So, another reason to keep your eyes glued to the TV on wed nights. Anywho, I'm watching some TVU live online now, watching for the Showbread video. So, I'm out!

home for Christmas

Well, I have finished the first semester of my senior year, and now I'm in Mobile for the break. Katie is at home with her family too, so I miss her now, but we will be together right after Christmas, so I just have to make it that far.
Nothing else is really new, I just wanted to get on and let everyone know that I'm done and will hopefully be able to write a few things over Christmas (if something actually happens).
I saw Blade:Trinity and Ocean's Twelve, both were pretty good, but I happened to like Blade better, because Ocean's Twelve just didn't hold up to the original, where Blade was better than both of its previous movies. Anywho, have a great Christmas, I'll be back soon@

One Final Left

So, all I have to do now is write my Youth Ministry paper, and I'm one semester away from graduating from LaGrange College. Currently, I am watching The Rundown with Chuck, Dani, Ryan, and Dan's bro Ben. Talk about a great movie, its all about fun and action. No need for a really strong plot, because it rocks so much. Hahahahaa, just in case you didn't know it stars the Rock, and so that was a pun. I'm really funny.
For those of you who have not gotten onto the LOST bandwagon yet, this wednesday they are replaying the first two episodes at 8/7c, so please tune in and see what I've been raving about.
I also decided this week (with Katie) that we really need to move close to my brother and sister-in-law, because I really need someone to play D&D with, and no one here really wants to play. Plus, Dan and I have to be close so we can get to work on our comic shop.
Oh, I finally started Dark Tower 5. I'm loving every minute of it, but I feel sad because I haven't been able to work on my own story in a couple of weeks. Hopefully after I finish this paper and over Christmas break I'll be able to squeeze out a couple more pages.
And finally, for some sad news.... The Supertones are breaking up. Yes, next year will be their final year. 10 years of awesomeness and they have been one of my favorite bands, but oh well. So, they join the ranks of Five Iron and Bleach. I'll be sure to see them on their farewell tour next year, I mean Roper will be with them, so it has to be a great show. Anyways, back to the movie.

Join the Nation

Well, who knew that having four guys huddled around a tv playing Super Smash Bros. Melee could be so time consuming? That's mainly what my late night free time (usually reserved for playing on the internet) has become now. Its been great though, Ryan Snider has been rocking the new catchphrases. "Pika-Domination" is his motto - hence the title. We are hoping to make shirts that have Join the Nation on the front and on the back would be Pikachu and the words "Pika-Domination." Also, this time has been great for me to listen to the Showbread CD that I have been borrowing from Ryan... talk about awesome.
The only sad thing about this finals time is that both Katie and I are stuck on duty 24 hours and therefore dont get to see each other very much:( However, today we got to go to a couple of Christmas parties (seeing how it is reading day and everything gets planned on that day). So, I got two cool White Elephant gifts, a plush Junior Asparagus, and an awesome Noah's Ark set that came packaged with a sticker set of all 12 Apostles (rock on!) Katie and I did get to go to Columbus this weekend and finish up our Christmas shopping (plus I got 3 new GameCube games thanks to the sale at GameStop).
I finally finished the Dark Tower book 4, after a getting a huge chunk done over Thanksgiving, and now I've only got 3 of those books left before I can move on in my reading agenda (LOTR is next, then the HP books again).
It turns out that I don't have to take a final for Apostolic Age class, because I got an A- on my research paper, and he said we could count that as our final if we wanted to, so woohoo! Now, all I have to do is take a final on thursday at 8 in the morning for Medieval Kings and Queens, and then I have two papers to write (one by sat and one by mon) and then I am done for the semester and I head down to Mobile for Christmas. Whew, that sure is crazy!
Anywho, I'm off to go study and play nintendo, but mostly just play nintendo.

Thanksgiving

Well, this was intended to be written on Friday, and Katie and her brother Brian can attest to me writing it during a Tom Brokaw special, but the stupid internet messed up before I could post it. Anyways, my Thanksgiving break was awesome, I had a great time relaxing with mine and Katie's families and I really can't wait until this semester is over and I get another break for Christmas time. Life is funny like that, you think school is all good, but once you get a break from all that dumb work, you don't want it anymore.
My brother and his wife wont be able to make it down to Mobile for christmas (sad), but I got my present from him early. He gave me Super Smash Bros. Melee, so now I can spend the next week until finals (and during finals, but not during study time) beating the crap out of Chuck and some guys on my hall. Anywho, now that I'm back online at school, I should be able to update a couple times this week. Back to killing chuck

Thanksgiving is almost here

2 out of 3 papers finished, and this last paper only has to be 5 pages!!!! Yes, I am coming down to the end of it all before the break and I'm excited! This week has been fairly good, if you don't count all the stupid paper writing that I've done. This weekend was pretty relaxing, I watched Elf and Blade and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade all on Friday, so it was a good time, and I'm considering popping in Raiders of the Lost Ark while I work on this paper later. My parents stopped by today on their way up to the cabin we are spending Thanksgiving at, it was the first time I had seen them since Aug 15th.
Dodgeball is going pretty well, my team is 1 and 1, and I got hit right in the face last game, my lip still hurts from it. Let's see, what else is going on? I rediscovered my SNES on my computer today and now I'm craving Super Mario RPG, but I have to force myself to get some of my paper done before I get my reward. I think that's really it for now, I've just been paper writing most of the week, hopefully when I next write something will have happened. I thought about writing some about my theological thoughts, but that can wait till I have a bit more time. Until next time, I remain Nate

Its been a while

Well, I have been pretty busy lately. My sister came to visit this weekend and we hung out and watched some movies. We watched the Stepford Wives, which was pretty sucky, Envy, which was pretty good, and Bourne Supremacy which was even better. After she left, I have been killing myself trying to get all my papers done before next week. I have just about finished my first (of 3) papers, and as soon as it gets done, Im off back to the library to get information on my other paper. So, this week I'm taking a break from writing the stories that I want to write in order to write these stupid things. I hope to write more this week, especially after our first dodgeball game tomorrow. If anything else happens, Ill be sure to let you know, otherwise, I'm back to work!

the Lost Boys

HA, what a great movie. Lindsey Matthews has been telling me about this movie for forever now, and we finally got the chance to watch it tonight. Talk about awesome vampire/80's cheezyness. It was just a really fun movie. Now, I get to watch some Mythbusters, which (when added to lots of time with my Katie) makes this night great! I didn't get to watch LOST yet, but Katie taped it for me for us to watch tomorrow, WHEW! Right now, my little short story baby has reached 7 pages single spaced and I'm really excited about it. I love how its going and it is definitely my favorite so far. Finally for my big piece of news today, I finished Dark Tower III - The Waste Lands and have just started Wizard and Glass. These books so totally rock that I just can't rave about them enough (they are like the literature version of LOST = total awesomeness). Now, I must go to bed to watch more Mythbusters and read some more Wizard and Glass before sleep!

Nothin new happening

So, nothing really has been happening the past few days. I met with Dean Slay this afternoon after he took a look at the short stories that I have written. He gave me some great suggestions to help me write better and maybe one day you will be able to read something published by me (aside from my wonderful Letter of the Month printed in Toyfare). Anyways, Dr. Slay liked my stories, which really made me feel a lot better about my writing, since now both he and Katie hve said they like them. So, now I'm back to writing, I hope I have more to say later.

The Incredibles are

Yeah, so my internet has been out all weekend, so even though I really wanted to post on saturday and sunday, I've had to wait until now. I saw The Incredibles twice this weekend, and man is that a great movie. Its one of the best superhero movies ever! Pixar just did a great job with the powers and we can only hope that the Fantastic Four uses these powers as well as they did. The Flag Football tournament could have gone a lot better, we lost all but one game. The main problem was that we discovered that at LaGrange we really play ghetto flag football, and at the tournament they had all these crazy things called "rules" that we had never played with before, so it was just interesting to watch us try to play. We finally got the hang of it and won our last game, but that was it.
Yesterday, Katie and I cleaned up my room so it looks spectacular now! I'm really ready for thanksgiving, I like my weekends too much and i hate it when they end. Well, now it is time for lunch, I can't think of anything to say anyways, except Dodgeball starts tomorrow, so I'll have to talk about that later, hopefully I'll have a new post tonight anyways. Watch LOST!!! (Mom, dont knock it until youve seen it)

Singing my love for LOST till the day I die

This show is freaking incredible, the plot just completely drags you in and the characters actually have depth. Tonight's episode focused on Dominic Monaghan's character Charlie (for those of you who haven't seen this show, I suggest you start watching it and start watching it now, it will be repeated on saturday night), and it was just great to see him struggling and see his backstory as to how he got addicted to the drugs. I mean in all truth, I really can't tell you how great this show is, it is just wonderful. I will be buying it the day it comes out on DVD, so if any of you live near me and don't watch it, I will force you to sit through it with me.
Also, for those of you who live under a rock or just have no idea what is happening in the world, President Bush won the election. I don't know whether to be happy or sad, he is a good guy and all, but I just don't agree with everything. Oh well, I guess its really the lesser of two evils, or is it? Finally, while I am talking about things I love, Katie is the most wonderful girl in the world. Who else would take their evening and sit and watch LOST and Mythbusters with me? She is so great, I love her so much and can't wait to be married (7 months from today, since it just hit midnight)!!! Well, it is getting late, so I must sleep until class tomorrow

The End of Flag Football (until the tournament on fri/sat)

Yes, you read right, we lost today against the Pi Kapps in an incredible effort in the pouring rain. I actually scored a touchdown, which is really incredible since I play line. Despite our awesome playing, we were just not good enough, and lost, but it was ok because playing in the rain was just so much fun. Let's see, nothing much else happened today aside from classes and voting. I've decided to refrain from stating my political beliefs for now because of the problems I've had trying to talk about them with others, I know people disagree with me, and I'm fine with that, I just wish that sometimes people could respect my own beliefs for what they are... mine. I come about my beliefs through my own thought, I am not easily swayed by other people and I think and pray a lot before I make decisions, so thats that.
Anywho, everyone should go see The Incredibles this weekend for two reasons. Reason 1: It looks to be an awesome movie, just as anything by Pixar is; and Reason 2: get ready for it.... THE STAR WARS EPISODE III TEASER TRAILER!!!!! Oh yes, May is coming fast for three reasons, graduation, marriage (actually thats in early june), and Star Wars. I'm so pumped for this movie I can't even express. Yeah, so I really just ran out of things to say.

I loved the ballet!

So, this weekend totally rocked! Not just the new cds and video game on friday, oh no, it didnt end there. On saturday, I got to sleep really late, and then I got to cook myself a steak for dinner!!!! That plus garlic mashed potatoes, biscuits, and fresh green beans..... yummy!! Then, our school had a Halloween party thingy, where we heard Dr. Slay tell a great ghost story (just to say how awesome he is, he emailed me the story in full because he had to edit some parts for time); then we went on the "Scary Campus Tour." It was really fun, even if it wasn't really scary, we goofed off a lot and messed with our tour guide (I use the plural because it wasn't me alone in all this, if you need a complete cast list, it will be at the credits at the end). Then, yesterday, Kate and I went to church and were expecting a lazy sunday, only to get a call at 3 in the afternoon from Lindsey Matthews asking if we wanted to go with her and Laura Anderson to the Dracula ballet in ATL. I was kind of skeptical at first, but once it started, I was soo into it, it was really amazing, the music just sucked you in and the dancing was (for lack of a better word) beautiful! I loved it, and I want to go back!
On the ride home, however, things took a turn for the worse as some stupid yellow car tried to kill us multiple times. But, I was luckily able to swerve out of the way and we lived to tell the story, without any injuries (save the one on my elbow from the Scary Campus Tour). Anyways, I spent the rest of the night and all of this morning studying for my Midterm in Dr. Shirley's class. I think I did ok, but it took a lot of time, so I wasn't able to go to my Ethics class. But, I did get to play LOTR Trivial Pursuit with Chuck and Matt. Then Chuck and I spent the rest of the afternoon getting ready for our awesome lesson for Bible STudy tonight. I'll tell more about that later, since FOKR guys read this and I dont want to ruin it for them. Anyways, it was a great weekend! More from me later!

Registering for a wedding

So, last night, under the constant prodding of a few friends, I was peer pressured into seeing a horrible movie (no, not Taxi... no, not Friday Night Lights either... yes, you in the back? Absolutely) it was The Grudge. Not only was it basically the same thing as The Ring, but it didn't make sense. The whole movie plodded worse than a constipation and stunk even worse at the end. So, to cleanse our palettes afterwards, Chuck, D-Rock and I watched Ocean's Eleven... much better.
As for today, I had no classes so Katie and I took the afternoon to go to Columbus and register for our wedding. First, we went to Bed, Bath, and Beyond and enjoyed the splendors of scanning whatever we wished. It was fun for a little bit, but then I just wanted to get home and relax and watch my taped Survivor. Anyways, after we took a break for dinner, we went to Target and registered there. Target was a little more fun because I got to pick some DVDs and toys to scan, but was still not as fun as really getting all those things. The great thing about it all was that I not only (finally) got the Roper album, but I got Jimmy Eat World's new album and F-Zero GX for my 'Cube. So, when we got back, I've been taking a relaxing evening watching Survivor and Return of the King (the animated one), whupping Chuck's butt at F-Zero, and listening to some great music. Boy, does it feel good to be the weekend... Whats that? I have a midterm with Dr. Shirley on Monday? Oh, shnikes, I have to get to studying tomorrow! Only, if Zelda doesn't call for me to rescue her (I'm already at the Fire Temple, in about 3 days playing time, how's that for kicking butt). Anywho, I'm off to bed to read some more Dark Tower and listen to the rest of JEW.

Another win for the BSU Pink Panthers

Yes, as the title attests to, our flag football team won another game today against the Pi Kappa Phi pledges (score one for the non-greeks!) Although we were being pushed around (and for those who have come to the games, they know) and the freaking refs will not make calls in our favor (both Alex and Matt got tackled) we still rocked the game with our amazing skills. All in all, it was the most physical flag football game played this year. After we finished the game, I have spent the evening relaxing and watching tv (Scrubs is the greatest show!)
Yeah, so today I found out that my 12-15 page paper for Dr. Cook's class is due the day after my 12-15 page paper for Dr. Shirley's class, yippee, i love being a senior! I really have nothing else to say, I've been sitting here at my monitor for 20 minutes and have not written anything since that last sentence, so I will holla back later!

Worship is a lot more than music, people

Just like the title says, and like I've been trying to tell people for years now, I know that music is a way to experience and worship god, but it is not the only way, nor should it be the most prominent. For, we are constantly told that we are to worship God all day long, and when you place it in only the context of music or that feeling that people get when they are singing songs. Worship should not be based on a person's emotions. If we based our worship on emotion, then I would not have worshiped God in at least 2 years. Worship contains the focus of God in our lives, whether we are worshiping while we type a paper, or talk on the phone to our best friends. I say this, because we can worship while doing these things as long as we are proclaiming the Gospel through our lives and words. This doesn't mean reciting your "testimony" (I'll write about my qualms with that some other time), it means that we need to be the hands and feet of Christ, by exemplifying his love to all who we encounter, THAT is true worship.
Anyways, today I had a pretty cool day, I turned in my paper, and I think I did pretty well, now I just have to prepare for a little presentation for my Apostolic Age class tomorrow. I got to register for next semester, and I got in all the classes I wanted, but it turned out that the creative writing class that I was in was a poetry class, so I dropped it instantly in order to take another religion class, yippee hooray! Ok, now I really have to get to work on that presentation, its nearly done, I just have to piece it together into a working statement.
"Come thou font of every blessing
tune my heat to sing thy grace
streams of mercy, never ceasing
call for songs of loudest praise!"
- a great hymn (don't know who it is by, but if you have to sing for worship, I suggest you use hymns)

This is the post that I've been trying to do for 2 days

So, if you've read the previous posts, you know that I highly enjoyed Super Size Me. Well, I had written an entire ethical argument for it yesterday, that I found really entertaining, but today, I just want to say that I've been finding more and more called to the idea of creating equality in all foundations of life, and sometimes for me that will have to mean giving up things I like. I have already given up Taco Bell due to ethical issues and now, I am researching into what other things I find to be against my foundational beliefs. Interesting isn't it? When you begin to look under the skin of a lot of companies, you find that what seemed to be a nice family friendly company actually abuses child labor laws in other countries. I don't mean to sound "holier-than-thou", I'm just trying to explain my convictions.
Considering my convictions, I feel I must explain more on my thoughts of Judgment Journey. I was actually able to go on Friday night with my crew, and found that when you spend 45 minutes scaring people from hell, only to spend (at most) 3 minutes explaining Jesus (without even mentioning his sacrifice or the responsibility that comes with the decision), I find a huge disconnect. Yeah, I'm sorry, I said it before, so I'll quit now!
I hate musiChristian.com! I PRE-ordered the Roper cd from them, and the Roper Cd came out last tuesday, and they havent even mailed it yet. So, now I have cancelled the order and I refuse to use them any more! Anywho, I have to run to BSU Encouragement Team, I'll try to give another more upbeat post later tonight!

Piece of Crap

Ok, I'm really pissed, this is the third time I have tried to write this freaking post, the past two times it has all been erased because of my stupid computer. I don't have time to rewrite the post because I have to write a paper now. I will do my best to do it tomorrow sometime so that you can get the awesomeness of those posts before you die of anguish from waiting.
Peace

Weekends are great

I just had a really good weekend! First, I saw the school play "Pippin" on friday, and boy was it good! After that, my group was able to make Judgment Journey (see earlier post) and were luckily scared into being saved by Jesus from the scorches of Hell. Yesterday, Katie's parents came, and I spent all day hanging out with them, and then when they left, Katie, Chuck, Noelle, and I watched The Ladykillers, which was quite funny. After that, Katie and I watched Super Size Me, which was like the highlight of my weekend, it is a great documentary of fast food! Now, I'm going to read Fast Food Nation, and decide which fast food restaurants I'm going to give up, trust me, its pretty gross. Today, Kate and I went to 1st Methodist LaGrange, and then I spent the rest of the day there preparing and doing youth for my Youth Ministry class. We made a Labyrinth for the youth to go through and experience chaos and then finding Jesus and his help in the midst of chaos. I thougt it went pretty well. Anyways, I have to write a 5 page paper now, so I'd better get onto that!
Oh yeah, I realized that you can't leave messages unless you are a member, so if you have comments, please email me or IM me!!! I LIKE RESPONSES!!

Judgment Journey (or lack thereof)

yeah, so me, Katie, Alejandro, Ryan, Derek, and Dani had been planning to go to Judgment Journey all week long, and so tonight we all headed in my car and made our way out there at 9:30, after all our stuff was done. So, we got there at 9:56 (thanks to a wrong turn by me), but they decided that that was too late (even though the signs say it was open to 10). So, after we talked to them and tried to convince our way in, they still let us go. How sad is that? They turned down our souls because we were too late? Isn't that what the whole thing is about? Saving people's sould before its too late? Yeah, I know i'm being whiny, but i have the right to be, because since we didn't get to go, the boys and i went to wal-mart and bought 2 pounds of tortilla chips and salsa, and we have eaten nearly all of it.
I know what some of you are thinking... "Hey, isn't Judgment Journey a bunch of bulls***?" To you i would respond, "Abso-freakin-lutely!" Not only is it incredibly theologically inaccurate (if any of you really believe the Left Behind books and believe them, you really really might want to relook at the theology behind it) but I also have come to despise the idea of scare tactic ministry. Not only is that theologically inaccurate as well(remember that Jesus preached a ministry of love, not of fear) but it plays with people's emotions and forces them to make decisions at a highly emotional, non logical state of mind. If you need more reasons, just ask me, i just finished a paper on scare tactics, id be more than happy to email it to you. Anyways, i need to be getting to bed, Frank is standing in the corner making me scared, so id better go.
Oh yeah, by the way, I've been rocking the Dark Tower books by Stephen King, and I highly recommend those as well, they freakin rock!

querstions

have you ever wondered why the times you need to do work most is the times that you don't want to do work at all? I think it is just a way of our minds telling us what God has known all along - school and homework aren't necessary. God wants us to learn through experience, and while we may learn theories from books and maybe how to look up stuff, but I find that most people would benefit from apprenticeships. Its something I've found more and more reasonable the more I consider it. Although, it might be hard to really set up all of these apprenticeships, but you know that some jobs would need less supervision than others. I mean, lets call for a reform in jobs instead of making people go to college to succeed, let all people have a chance, not just those who learn from books. Hey, while we're at it, lets go for communism while we're at it. Everyone knows that that is better than stupid democracy, then we wouldn't have dumb ol' elections to worry about, nor would we have money problems to worry about (theoretically), and everyone would be equal... what's not to like about that? Its what Jesus would have wanted! Who's with me? (I really just wrote this blog to get people to respond on put some responses up so I feel loved).

crap, I hate work

Yeah, so today I'm starting to work on my massive project for Dr. Cook's Apostolic Age class. Basically, everyone in the class has to pick an apostle and do a 12-15 page paper on them, plus we have to do a presentation for that apostle. The thing is, I volunteered to do my presentation (basically an outline of your paper, given in front of the class to make Dr. Cook happy) next tuesday! Yippee, so now, I am taking a break from reading the Apocryphal books of Paul and the Nag Hammadi library. I mean, its really interesting, but I just dont much like doing a whole bunch of work. I love classes and learning, I just hate having to do all the outside work like papers and such (don't get me wrong, I love reading the books for class, just not the follow up junk).
Anyways, in TV news, I think everyone with a brain needs to be watching the following shows: Scrubs, Lost, Mythbusters, Survivor, anything on Tech TV, Reno 911. Yeah, I love these shows and just had to get that out, if you have time, watch them!
Ok, I need to get back to work.

I NEED TO BE CALLER 20!

So, i listen to radiou.com religiously every day and now they have a contest to win a trip to San Fran and hang out with Roper, who is like totally one of my heroes. So, ive been getting all my buds to call with me every chance we get, but weve only been numbers 1,2,9,12,15, and 17.... ARRRGH I have to win this contest! Today has been a rough day. two bad(ish) grade on a paper and a test, but at least i get free ice cream for it (yea for gambling), and ive got three huge things due three days in a row!
So, i decided to take today off and then im diving in tomorrow until i die of exhaustion. Anyways, Chuck and i are totally rockin the Mario Kart: Double Dash tonight, while listening to radiou, but futurama comes on at 11.
I missed Scrubs thanks to this comedian who was here at the college - eric o'shea, he was pretty good, but im sad i missed my show. Tomorrow is Lost though, and that will be ok. Now, its back to Mario.. peace

Dandy-Lion

And it begins!
I decided after reading ol' David Boozer's blog that I needed to get onto it myself and keep people posted on my life. First, I'll answer the question everyone is asking... "Connie Darko?!" Yes, you read right. It is a nickname from a good friend (and fellow suffering Religion major senior) Lindsey Matthews, and yes it comes from the movie Donnie Darko, which everyone must see in order to be called a human being.
Onto life... my classes are harder than the crust on my underwear, but I still love LaGrange College. For those who don't know, I am engaged, and preparing for a summer wedding a week after I finish up here. Sooo much fun! As for being an RA, I must say that we have some great freshmen guys this year and they like to come up and hang with me and Chuck to watch Futurama and play Donkey Konga (I tried to have this name be Rock Lobster, for those of you who know).
Also, BSU has a flag football team this year, and boy do we rock the house in our pink shirts and gayish nicknames (Chuck is Sassyfrass, I am Dandy-Lion, Raunchy Ryan is Tutti Frutti), basically its tons of fun, and we finally won a game last wed 56-20! We have a game tomorrow at 5:00 pm EST, so if you want to wear a pink t-shirt in support, and even show up, you would be more than welcome, we love our supporters.
Last Friday, I saw Roper in concert, and he rocked my face off, everyone needs to go get his album "Brace Yourself for the Mediocre" it came out today and I give it my full support.
To wrap up, I will do my best to put my random thoughts up and keep you updated on my Amazing life... ha
Peace
